During the past 30 months, I have been in search of, and
started to reunite with, my birth family. I am adopted;
it is a different experience of the world than for someone
who has always been around those who look, feel and are
psychically connected. Many adoptees describe feeling
isolated and rootless. And then the incredible joy when
reconnected, sometimes after many decades.
This is my story as it continues to unfold. The postings were made to an online support group for other adoptees and birth-mothers. There is a good deal of repetition in the postings, and the facts, and viewpoints change as the search/reunion process continues. Rather than edit the files, I have left them as posted in real-time and they thus reflect the journey moment-by-moment. |
