I - Formulation - Youth
My body
ties my contact with others
to itself
Yet dreams seem so real --
is contact an illusion?
I ponder --
does belief equal reality?
If only the world of the mind exists
then only others can exist
through my perceptions of their minds
on the extra-physical levels
I perceive no one else
in this lonely void of the mind
Am I then both all things
and the abscence of all things?
I perceive only my mind
on the extra-physical levels
Can I be God?
II - Realization - Middle Age
A damned car!
The curse of western society!
What a wretched turn of events!
And the doctors say
I may never fully recover
For the first time
I am seeing my vulnerability
my youthful fantasies
vanish
And all along I thought
I was God
III - Enlightenment - Death
My views in life
had been so near
and yet so terribly distant
from the truth
While life is not just a plain formula
a nice neat toy
a mathematician's delight
neither is it so simple
that belief equals reality
Christ
the only true christian
showed us the way
Cain was aware
Napoleon too
An individual progresses
toward universal unity
by standing alone
in thought and action
undisturbed
by the adverse judgments
of fellow men
We seeers!
We visionaries!
We gods!
This has been the message
handed down through the millennia
To stand alone
in harmony
with the universal forces
For so tragically long
the living refused
as I did
to accept such enlightenment
Must we all die
in order to acheive life?
And the living mock the blind!
