Crushing weight!
Tonnage transcending tonnage!
The world is on my shoulders!
A burden I am ill prepared for
Tonnage transcending tonnage!
Hot then cold! Free then jailed!
Jailed then free! And jailed again!
I turn right but move left
All that I touch increases my burden
Tonnage transcending tonnage!
Weight of weights! My soul being flattened!
My spirit crushed! The screws turned tighter!
Downward, crushing weight!
Tonnage transcending tonnage!
Yet still I resist
There's light at the end of the tunnel
I bear my burden down along the path
Every step risks cavein and permanent burial
Crushing weight! The world is on my shoulders!
The dimness begins to clear
But a faulty step! Behind me rocks slide and grind!
Granite on granite! Testing each other's strength!
My will being tested
I plod onward
Tonnage transcending tonnage!
It's getting brighter
But crushing weight! Flatter and flatter!
No more than a hair's breadth,
my soul flattens further!
Tonnage transcending tonnage!
Brighter light
I reach out to hold you
to free me from my burdens
Crushing weight!
I move ahead but in reverse! A faulty step!
Granite on granite! Testing my will!
Tonnage transcending tonnage!
Soaring, soaring
life returing
light returning
I can see again
crushing weight
decreasing to infinity
tonnage falling
falling
falling
my world no longer a burden
my soul is growing
filling out
becoming whole
becoming more
jailhouse
diasppearing
my freedom
firming
life
returning
soaring
soaring
I live again
